Description

Why AROID N°01?

Jungle Mimicry

Replicates epiphytic tree-dwelling conditions.

Anti-Rot Chunk

High macroporosity prevents root suffocation.

Nutrient Hold

High CEC nutrient grip holds food for hungry feeders.

Root Expansion

Loose matrix allows thick roots to travel.

Who This Soil Is Best For…
+
Pro Tip: This is a professional “chunky” matrix. It replicates the porous, organic-rich floor of a tropical rainforest where air and water are in perfect balance.

Soil Success (The Instructions)
+
1. The “Soak & Drain” Rule

Aroids hate small sips. Water thoroughly until liquid flows freely from the drainage holes, ensuring the bark absorbs moisture. Then let it drain completely.

2. The Dry-Down

Unlike bog plants, Aroids need a breathing cycle. Allow the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry out completely before watering again. This triggers root expansion as they search for moisture.

3. Feed Heavy

Aroids are hungry giants. This soil has a high CEC (cation exchange capacity) to hold onto nutrients. Use a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season.

Add BioCharge

We automate your schedule and ship fresh nutrient packs exactly when your plants get hungry. Set it and forget it.

Plants That Love This Mix
+
Note: This chunky, high-porosity blend is engineered specifically for Aroids and Epiphytes. It is not suitable for desert Cacti.
Monstera

Deliciosa / Albo / Thai

Tip: Allow top 3 inches to dry. These thick roots need air to prevent rot.

Philodendron

Pink Princess / Gloriosum

Tip: They love climbing. The chunky bark supports aerial root attachment.

Anthurium

Clarinervium / Warocqueanum

Tip: High humidity is key. Keep the mix lightly moist but never soggy.

Alocasia

Polly / Frydek

Tip: Sensitive to overwatering. This mix flushes excess water instantly.

Frequently Asked Questions
+
Can I use Tap Water?

Yes. Unlike carnivorous plants, Aroids tolerate tap water well, though filtered water prevents leaf tip burn on sensitive species like Calathea or Alocasia.

Should I add Fertilizer?

YES. Aroids are heavy feeders during the growing season. This soil holds nutrients well, so use a liquid fertilizer once a month.

Do I need drainage holes?

Absolutely. Aroids are prone to root rot if they sit in stagnant water. This fast-draining mix requires a pot with holes to function correctly.
