Description

Why CARNIVOROUS N°01?

Bog Mimicry

Retains moisture while preventing rot.

Zero Burn

<50ppm TDS. No mineral buildup.

Nutrient Void

Zero NPK. Forces traps to hunt.

High Acidity

pH 3.5 – 4.5 for optimal health.

Who This Soil Is Best For…
+
Pro Tip: This is a specialized bog-mimicry substrate. It replicates the high-acid, nutrient-void wetlands where carnivorous plants evolved to hunt for survival.

Soil Success (The Instructions)
+
1. The “Clean Water” Rule

Carnivorous plants are allergic to tap water. Chlorine and minerals will kill them. You MUST use Distilled Water, Reverse Osmosis (RO) water, or Rainwater.

2. The Tray Method

Unlike cactus, these plants love wet feet. Place your pot in a shallow tray of distilled water. The soil will wick moisture up (capillary action), keeping the roots hydrated exactly like a natural bog.

3. STOP! Do Not Fertilize

Never put standard plant food in this soil. It burns the roots. Your plant gets its nitrogen from eating bugs.

Add Moss

We automate your schedule and ship fresh nutrient packs exactly when your plants get hungry. Set it and forget it.

Plants That Love This Mix
+
Note: This nutrient-void blend is engineered specifically for carnivorous species. Do not use for regular houseplants.
Venus Flytraps

Dionaea muscipula

Tip: Keep soil constantly damp. Use the tray method with distilled water.

American Pitcher Plants

Sarracenia

Tip: They love full sun and wet feet. Deep pots are best for their roots.

Sundews

Drosera

Tip: Produce more “dew” when humidity is high.

Butterworts

Pinguicula

Tip: Their shallow roots love this mix’s aeration.

Frequently Asked Questions
+
Can I use Tap Water?

NO. Tap water contains dissolved minerals that will poison your plant. Always use Distilled, Reverse Osmosis, or Rainwater.

Should I add Fertilizer?

NO. Carnivorous plants evolved to grow in poor soil. Adding fertilizer to the roots can kill them. Feed them bugs instead.

Do I need drainage holes?

Yes. While they like wet soil, stagnant water can cause fungus. Holes allow you to flush the soil if needed.
